Desert Island DVDs - Roto Supervisor Devyan Chauhan

Roto Supervisor Devyan Chauhan from our Mumbai studio picks 3 movies he would watch if he were stuck on a Deserted Island...

We've been asking the Outpost team across all studios to pick 3 movies they would take to a Desert Island with them and could watch over and over and over.

From our Mumbai Studio, Roto Supervisor Devyan Chaunhan dives into his choices for deserted island life.

First of all, being on a deserted island would be a dream come true for me as it would be an adrenaline rush, but I wouldn't want to go into full-on rough mode, like finding food, water, and shelter.

However, if I had to bring three movies with me, I would choose the ones that would motivate and encourage me to stay on the island for as long as possible and that would keep my mind occupied and fully immersed in the story.

What better movie to watch when you are on a deserted island than this one? I am a huge fan of Tom Hanks, his acting, and the physical transformation for the role.

I overlooked this movie for a very long time, but one day I decided to watch it, and boy was I moved to tears and shocked by the work he put into the character. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who is depressed or fed up with life because it will unquestionably change the way you live.

I really like stories that are inspired by true events and this is one of them.

Movies related to time, space, and time travel are my go to movies, and how can I forget Christopher Nolen, the father of time manipulation?

I have watched this movie more than 50 times and I can watch it again and again. It would give you a new theory or question every time you watch it. It is a masterpiece. I was thrilled by the robbery scene and I still wonder how they shot that scene.

A fun fact about Nolen is he was never dependent on the VFX or special effects; he would use more practical effects most of the time. For this movie, they crashed a real cargo plane; none of the VFX used in that scene was used.

Sean Penn’s tragic movie is based on the book by Jon Krakauer and tells the story of Chris McCandless as he journeys across the US. His path eventually leads him to the Alaskan wilderness where he stays completely alone like me on my island.
