Tom Hanks Western News Of The World Launches First Trailer

Paul Greengrass's Western epic is set for release at Christmas 2020

We're delighted to share the first trailer for Universal's News of the World. The Western, based on the novel by Paulette Jiles, is directed by Paul Greengrass and stars Tom Hanks.

The film sees the pair reunite following 2013's Academy Award nominated Captain Phillips.

As lead VFX vendor on the film, Outpost delivered over 350 visual effects shots for the film, which is due for release Christmas 2020.

Outpost's Roni Rodrigues was enlisted by Universal to be production-side VFX Supervisor for News of the World, with Ian Fellows supervising VFX internally. This is our third outing with Paul Greengrass following our work on 22 July and Jason Bourne.

We can't wait to share more of our work on News of the World once the film has released later in 2020. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer and watch this space!
