Project Overview

Ten years after the comic book received the silver screen treatment, HBO debuted a new high-end TV series of Watchmen.

With Lost and The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof at the helm, Watchmen stars Regina Hall, Don Johnson, Jeremy Irons, Tim Blake Nelson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in an alternate, dystopian world where superheroes are treated as outlaws.

Outpost VFX was thrilled to be a part of the Watchmen TV series. Outpost Head of VFX Andy Morley said, "It's not often you get to work on such an exciting and highly anticipated show as Watchmen! And finally it is out, to a huge welcoming global audience.

"Pretty much the whole Outpost VFX team were lucky enough to be involved on complex creature work right from the first episode, and into later episodes too. Congratulations and thank you to our fabulous creative clients too: Erik, Matt and Damon, for allowing us to work with them to craft their final masterpiece. I hope you are all as proud as we are!"

The BBC said of the new series, "Thanks to some flawless visual effects, painstaking production design, and actors who throw away their sarcastic dialogue as if they were in a cop drama, HBO’s Watchmen always seems to revolve around real people in the real world – sort of."

Brian Tallerico of Rogerebert.com said of the show: "This is breathtaking, ambitious television that only gets richer with each subsequent episode" and Alan Sepinwall of Rolling Stone called it "fascinating - and frequently thrilling".
