Oscars 2026: 4 Outpost VFX Films Make Longlist

Oscars 2026 race heats up as the 20 contenders for Best Visual Effects are announced

The 20-strong longlist for the 2026 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects has been announced, with four of the films featuring work by Outpost VFX.

Wicked: For Good, The Lost Bus, Sinners and Captain America: Brave New World were all confirmed to be progressing to the next round, with Oscars shortlists due to be announced on 16 December.

Outpost VFX contributed visual effects to each of these films, from a 400-shot award of work on Wicked: For Good to the tumultuous fight sequences of Captain America: Brave New World.

Final nominees for the award, which boasts previous winners including Dune, Interstellar and Gravity, will be announced on 22 January, with the 98th Academy Awards taking place in Los Angeles on 15 March.
