Watchmen and Devs have both been nominated for VFX awards at the 2020 Emmys
Leading the overall pack with 26 nominations in various categories is Watchmen, HBO’s critically acclaimed limited series set in the DC Comics universe and based on the work of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
The final episode of Watchmen, ‘See How They Fly’, has been nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects at the 2020 Emmy Awards. Working alongside overall VFX Supervisor Erik Henry and overall VFX Producer Matt Robken we delivered extensive 3D and 2D environment work for the episode’s thrilling climax.
You can see some of our work from the episode, alongside our Cattle Battle work from the show’s pilot and further creature work throughout the series, below.
In addition, Andrew Garland’s FX limited series Devs has been nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Supporting Role at the 2020 Emmy Awards.
Devs
Working closely with overall VFX Supervisor Andrew Whitehurst, overall VFX Producer Sarah Tulloch and lead vendor DNEG we were tasked with intricate cosmetic fixes and digital makeup on lead talent.
We’re thrilled to have been involved in both of these productions and want to congratulate our talented team and everyone involved with them both in VFX and across all departments. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Erik Henry, Matt Robken, Andrew Whitehurst and Sarah Tulloch for asking us to be a part of two of the most exciting shows of 2019/20! The 2020 Emmy Awards will take place on 21 September 2020.
