If you were stranded on a desert island, what three films would keep you company? We ask our artists just that

Madison Tavernier
If I’m on a desert island and I can bring three movies with me, I’m going to choose movies that I know I can keep rewatching but are also diverse enough that they’ll keep me from getting too bored.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring – Peter Jackson
My first choice is Peter Jackon's epic Lord of the Rings. This is my favourite franchise for sure, and I’ve read J.R.R. Tolkien's books and watched the movies more times that I can count. It’s also a three-hour long movie so it can distract me for a good amount of time.
What We Do in the Shadows – Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement
My next pick is What We Do in the Shadows by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement. I love this movie, and it feels like each time I watch it I find something new to laugh at. This is definitely one of my favourite types of comedy; it’s a perfect mix of absurd and awkward. Just the thing if I need entertaining while stranded on a desert island.
Spirited Away – Hayao Miyazaki
Lastly, I’ll take Hayao Miyazaki’s anime classic Spirited Away. This is the perfect movie for when I want something relaxing to look at. I love all the designs in Spirited Away, and the broad range of different characters. Of course, it’s Studio Ghibli, so the animation and drawings are beautiful, and should keep me inspired.
