CG Supervisor Pranav Pande joins Outpost Mumbai

With almost 15 years’ experience in the visual effects industry, Pande has worked on several high-profile projects for major studios across multiple departments.

Beginning his VFX career as a Character Modeller at Big Animation in India, Pande transitioned into Lighting at Prana Studios where he worked on projects for Disney, Pixar, and Universal Studios. It was at Brilliance Motion Pictures in China where he was first appointed CG Supervisor, working on large-scale productions such as Paramount’s Halo. 

On joining Outpost, Pande said: “I’m looking forward to being part of some big shows at Outpost, working with the incredible talent pool in Mumbai and other global sites. It’s exciting to be part of the Mumbai team and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”

Pande will coordinate the CG team at Outpost Mumbai, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-calibre visual effects across multiple projects.

While Pranav originally studied fine art, and was working as a Painter professionally, animation in films like Jurassic Park, The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings inspired him to move into visual effects. While working as a Concept and Storyboard Artist, he met VFX Artists working in Maya which motivated his career change. He’ll now be joining a team who recently worked on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He adds: “I’ve been very fortunate to go from Fine Artist to CG Supervisor. It shaped my career and my personality in a very positive way.”

Pranav continues: “Outpost are working on prestigious shows. But, while what you’re doing is important, the more important thing for me is how you’re doing it. I strongly believe that art can only flourish when it’s created in a well-managed environment like Outpost’s.”
